LIGHT + WELL BUILDING

WELL is the leading tool for advancing health and well-being in
buildings globally. As stated by The International WELL Building
Institute™ (IWBI™), 4,156 projects encompassing over 540 million
square feet are applying WELL across 61 countries.
This presentation gives an overview of the lighting requirements
in WELL v2 pilot program, focusing on key factors plus practical
recommendations and strategies that should be considered
when designing and specifying human-centric lighting in
commercial spaces.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Understand a general overview of the WELL Building
Certification process
2. Identify the intent of the lighting features in the
WELL Building Standard
3. Develop an understanding of luminaire selection and
lighting design strategy to achieve lighting credits
4. Identify elements in the architectural environment that
influence the effectiveness of a lighting design strategy

David Alkalay is a Regional Sales Manager at Fluxwerx Illumination, covering eastern Canada and the northeast United States; he has been with Fluxwerx since 2014.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies and several years of managerial experience in the lighting community and other businesses. David has developed an incredible depth of product and technical support expertise while progressing through various roles during his 15+ years in the lighting industry.
